German Courses

Here you have the opportunity to improve and optimize your existing knowledge of German.

Depending on what skills you bring with you, you can find out more about the different levels here.

All courses offered take place in small groups of a maximum of 4 participants in order to guarantee greater learning success.

German A1 (beginners)

Can understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce himself and others and ask other people questions about themselves - e.g. B. where they live, what kind of people they know or what kind of things they have - and can answer questions of this kind. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

German A2 (basic knowledge)

Can understand sentences and commonly used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. personal and family information, shopping, work, local area). Can interact in simple, routine situations requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can use simple means to describe own background and education, immediate surroundings and matters relating to immediate needs.

German B1 (advanced language use)

Can understand the main points of clear, standard language on familiar matters relating to work, school, leisure time etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise when traveling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on a familiar topic and of a personal interest. Can report on experiences and events, dreams, hopes and goals and give brief reasons or explanations for plans and views.

German B2 (independent language use)

Can understand the main ideas of complex texts on concrete and abstract topics; also understands technical discussions in his own special field. Can communicate so spontaneously and fluently that a normal conversation with native speakers is easily possible without great effort on either side. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects, explaining a point of view on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

German C1 (professional language skills)

Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, including implicit meaning. Can express him/herself spontaneously and fluently without often having to search for words clearly. Can use the language effectively and flexibly in social and professional life or in training and studies. Can produce text on complex subjects in a clear, structured and detailed manner, using various means of textual linking appropriately.

German C2 (nearly native speaker knowledge)

Can understand with ease practically everything he/she reads or hears. Can summarize information from a variety of written and oral sources, reproducing reasons and explanations in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, identifying finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
